Andy
Viano was named the RailCats' Director of Broadcasting in
May 2008, returning to the team he spent three years with as
a broadcasting and media relations assistant.
Viano will serve as the RailCats' primary
play-by-play broadcaster for every game on WEFM, 95.9 FM,
and online at www.SportsJuice.com.
A
2005 graduate of Valparaiso University, Viano broadcast
RailCat home games from 2004-06 and had a variety of media
relations duties, including official scoring, publication
design, web updating and the production and distribution of
press releases.
During
his stint with the RailCats, Viano also served as the
Assistant Director of Media Relations at Valpo from 2005-06
before being named the Director of Sports Information at
Manhattanville College in Purchase, N.Y.
Viano served as the play-by-play voice of the
Valiants' nationally-ranked men's hockey team and also
worked as the primary media contact for all 17 of
Manhattanville's NCAA Division III athletic teams.
While
a student at Valpo, Viano was an award-winning broadcaster
for the Crusaders' basketball, football, baseball and soccer
teams, and also performed a stint as the General Manager of
the school's award-winning student-run radio station, WVUR.
In 2005, Viano produced and hosted the Indiana
Association of Student Broadcasters' "Sportscast of the
Year" during a Crusader men's basketball broadcast.

native of Downers Grove, Ill., Viano and his wife Rachel
currently reside in Griffith, Ind.
