Does this mean the 2020 season is cancelled?
No. The start of the season has been delayed by American Association of Independent Professional Baseball, but the season has not been cancelled. Click here for the most recent statement.
When will the season start?
The American Association will aim for a potential start date of the season in early July.
How will the schedule change to accommodate the late start?
The league intends a season that would include 80-games and extend to late September. The early July timeline, along with the length of the season, is tentative and dependent on the ability to hold games in home markets while abiding by federal, state, provincial governments laws and municipal health orders and guidelines.
I have tickets to the home opener and/or other games, what does this mean for me?
Fans who purchased a ticket to a game that has been cancelled due to the delayed start to the season will be able to exchange their tickets for any remaining home game during the 2020 season. This includes the rescheduled date of the RailCats' home opener in 2020, once announced.
Will there be attendance restrictions when games resume?
As of today, that is unknown. We will follow all protocols established for community gatherings as directed by the American Association and abiding by federal, state, provincial governments laws and municipal health orders and guidelines.
Is the Steel Yard prepared to provide a clean and healthy environment for fans?
The Steel Yard has always provided a safe, clean and healthy environment for fans during all games and events. We will continue to make the health of guests our top priority, enhance our protocols and ensure that every possible measure will be taken to ensure the health of guests.
