RailCats Seeking Host Families for 2010 Season
Wednesday, February 24, 2010

GARY, Ind. — The Gary SouthShore RailCats are looking for willing and able Northwest Indiana residents to become part of the team’s Host Family program, housing a ‘Cats player for the summer and getting free season tickets along other great perks!

Host Families get to build a bond with a RailCats player that can last a lifetime, and the responsibilities are minimal.  All families are asked to provide is a separate bedroom and bathroom for their host player, otherwise everything else is up to the players themselves.  The RailCats have several dedicated host families returning for the 2010 season but are looking for even more to provide comfortable shelter while the ‘Cats chase a third Northern League Championship.

In exchange for participating in the program, host families receive two season tickets for 2010 – which include invitations to season ticket holder exclusive events and season ticket holder only discounts at the ballpark – and will be honored by the team and presented with a special gift at the end of the season.

For more information on how to become a Host Family and to hear about some of the wonderful memories current host families have created with their players, contact Laura Blakeley, the RailCats Manager of Merchandise & Community Relations, by calling 219.882.2255 or e-mailing lblakeley@railcatsbaseball.com.

The RailCats begin the 2010 season Thursday, May 20 at 7 p.m. at U. S. Steel Yard against the Kansas City T-Bones.  Season tickets, mini-plans, flex vouchers and group outings are on sale now by calling the RailCats at 219.882.2255 or visiting the team’s official website, www.railcatsbaseball.com.
