RailCats Return from Purrfect Roadtrip for Six Games

GARY, Ind. — On the heels of a perfect 6-0 southern roadtrip, Fireworks Friday returns to U. S. Steel Yard July 22 as the RailCats kick off a six-game homestand stuffed with great giveaways and action-packed American Association Baseball! Tickets are on sale now for all six games with no seat in the house more than $10 and parking is always free! GLOW Stations, GLOW bracelets, and GLOW signs will all be on hand for one night only! Glow in the Park is sure to be a spectacular night that will light up U. S. Steel Yard and the city of Gary! Rusty and Rascal want you to join in the fun, so try to find a shirt, hat, or pants in your closet that glow! If you can’t find anything, don’t worry the first 1,000 fans entering the ballpark receive a Glow in the Dark RailCats Hat thanks to our friends at U. S. Steel Gary Works. Also stick around after the ball game to see a RailCat tradition that never stops lighting up the sky! An extra-awesome Fireworks Friday presented by First Midwest Bank and The Post-Tribune will glow atop all of Northwest Indiana to finish off your night! Girl Scouts of all ages are also invited to bring pack their sleeping bags and tents for a night of baseball, camping, s’mores and ghost stories at the stadium! Salute your troops and fellow citizens by offering a donation of blood to the Red Cross in the Diamond Club (located in right field) starting at 4pm and get free flex tickets to an upcoming home game. We will also salute our kids who enter the gates early, by giving away a RailCats Chest Protector Backpack to the first 1,000 kids entering the park thanks to First Midwest Bank and the Post-Tribune! Who says Christmas happens just once a year? The RailCats celebrate Christmas in July with the big guy in the red suit giving away presents all evening so he can try get ahead for the real thing in December. We know it’s not Friday, but you can’t have Christmas in July without FIREWORKS. Experience a Christmas-themed Fireworks spectacular following the game courtesy of First Midwest Bank and the Post-Tribune! Fans will also need to be on the lookout for the Grinch as he tries to steal this Christmas celebration! It's the most profitable giveaway of the year as the first 1,000 fans will get an envelope filled with cash! A total of $2,000 will be passed out, with five lucky fans landing $100! Special guest, former RailCat first baseman, Wes Chamberlain will return to U. S. Steel Yard. In the 2003 season, Chamberlain had 22 doubles, a .310 batting average, and 13 home runs for the RailCats and was named to the RailCats Tenth Anniversary Team at Third-Annual Fan Fest in February. The RailCats celebrate their Tenth Season with another Tuesday Picture Giveaway to the first 1,000 fans entering the ballpark commemorating ten years of fun and exciting baseball in Northwest Indiana, thanks goes to the sponsor, Great Lakes Orthopedics!
