The RailCats acquired infielder/outfielder Mitch Glasser on Oct. 24, 2017, from the Winnipeg Goldeyes to partially complete the trade from August 10th that sent pitcher Charle Rosario to the Goldeyes for right-handed pitcher Daniel Minor, four players to be named later and cash considerations.Glasser hit .282 with three home runs, 33 RBIs, 18 stolen bases and scored a team-best 70 runs in 90 games for Cleburne in 2017. Glasser was also hit a team-high 14 times and was second on the Railroaders with a .380 on-base percentage, 41 walks and 98 hits. Before the start of the 2017 American Association regular season, Glasser played for Israel in the World Baseball Classic qualifier. Glasser didn’t receive an at-bat, however, did appear as a defensive replacement. Glasser began his professional baseball career in 2013 after getting drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 39th round of the 2012 MLB Draft out of Macalester College (St. Paul, Minn.). Glasser played in three games for the Bristol White Sox (Rookie Ball) in 2013 before beginning his Independent Professional Baseball career with the now defunct Joplin Blasters in 2015.
