GARY, Ind. — The Gary SouthShore RailCats announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Andrew Rohrbach and the re-signing of left-handed pitcher Jeff McKenzie on Thursday.

Rohrbach most recently played in 2014 with the Tri-City Dust Devils of the Northwest League, the short-season A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. He started twice for the Dust Devils, giving up two earned runs in four total innings. Rohrbach was a ninth-round pick, 263rd overall, to the Rockies in 2014. He played collegiately at Long Beach State.

McKenzie began the season with the RailCats before fracturing his left ankle on May 30th vs. the Kansas City T-Bones. McKenzie went 0-2 with one complete game and a 5.09 ERA in three starts for the RailCats before getting released on May 31st. McKenzie was acquired from the Lincoln Saltdogs on Jan. 4th in a trade for right-handed pitcher Richard Castillo.

McKenzie went 5-4 with four saves and a 4.32 ERA in 30 games (seven starts) for the Saltdogs last season. The southpaw spent three seasons in the Chicago White Sox organization before beginning his American Association career in 2016.

The RailCats return to action on Friday at 7:10 as the RailCats welcome the Sioux City Exploers for the first of a three game series. The starters are to be announced.
