GARY, Ind. — The Gary SouthShore RailCats announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Nate Antone on Thursday. Antone is a native of Vandergrift, Pennsylvania and played collegiately at West Virginia University after transferring from Potomac State College (West Virginia). He was a position player and a pitcher during his collegiate playing career.
Antone pitched 9.1 total innings in college. He struck out 10 batters in that small sample size. During his freshman year at Patomac State. His ERA was 3.52 and recorded three saves during that season as well, his strikeout to walk rate his freshman season was an impressive 4.50.
Antone comes to the RailCats after a most recent stint with the Lake Erie Crushers in the Frontier League. He appeared in Thursday’s double-header opener against the Salina Stockade as he did not allow a run in an inning of work.
Thursday’s doubleheader is another Gerber Collison & Glass Thursday and features Comics Night in game two. Do you love cosplay and comicon?
