Josh Vincent returns to the South Shore for his first full season as a RailCat in 2022 after joining the team as a mid-season signing the previous year. In his nine starts, he struck out 27 batters in his 45.0 innings and finished with a 2-4 record.
Vincent began his college career at UConn Avery Point and Chowan University before making his way to Eastern Connecticut State University where he spent his final two seasons. He ended his final season in school with a bang as he registered a 6-2 record, 1.72 earned run average, 80 strikeouts, 1.021 WHIP, and a .186 batting average against in 62.2 innings of work over nine starts and one relief appearance. Vincent’s ERA placed first in the Little East Conference while he finished second in strikeouts, third in innings pitched, and tied for fourth in batting average against. On top of that, he led the Warriors to the Conference Tournament Finals and an appearance in the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
The Alpine Cowboys of the PECOS League added Vincent to their starting rotation at the conclusion of his time at Eastern Connecticut State, and it only took him three starts for the RailCats to bring him to the U.S. Steel Yard. He went 1-1 with a 4.15 ERA, 20 strikeouts, and just four walks in 13.0 innings.
