Professional Career

2019

At 25 years old, Seyler struggled in his second season with the Canaries, tossing a 7.33 ERA resulting in a 3-10 record over 100.2 innings on the mound. 

2018

In 2018, Seyler made the transition to independent ball when he joined the Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers of the United Shore League. He also made the transition back to starter with the Beavers, making 10 starts, sporting a 4-2 record with a 4.94 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 51 innings of work. For the second half of the season, Seyler moved to the Sioux Falls Canaries of the American Association, adding a 2-4 record and a 5.40 ERA over 41 innings. 

2015, 2017

Seyler began his professional career in 2015 in short-season A with the Staten Island Yankees where he saw 14 appearances on the bump, all in relief, dealing a 4.62 ERA in 25.1 innings of work. After a year off in 2016, Seyler joined the Rookie-classified Pulaski Yankees. With Pulaski, Seyler had a 6.85 ERA through 23.2 innings pitched in 15 relief appearances.

2015

During his junior season with the Aztecs, Seyler was impeccable on the mound sporting a 9-3 record coupled with a 2.77 ERA in 17 starts on the year. His 79 strikeouts,107.1 innings pitched, and 1.127 WHIP were all career-high clips for Seyler.

2014

Emerged as a regular weekend starter for the Aztecs during the 2014 season... Competed for the Palm Springs Power of the Southern California Collegiate Baseball League during the summer of 2013 ... Made 18 appearances including a pair of starts for the Power and finished with a record of 3-0, two saves and a 3.21 earned run average ... Recorded 47 strikeouts over 42 innings pitched ... Only one of his 16 appearances came in relief ...In eight appearances (seven starts, one relief) at Tony Gwynn Stadium went 4-1 with a 1.07 earned run averaged ... Ranked second on the squad and fifth in the Mountain West with 78 strikeouts.

2013

Appeared in only one game during the season, a brief relief stint at Santa Clara on Feb. 26 ... Allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits in that contest in which he faced only two batters.

HIGH SCHOOL

Earned three varsity letters as a baseball player at Agoura High School in Agoura Hills, Calif. ... Was coached there by Dennis Reitz (one season) and Mike Cordero (two seasons) ... A first-team all-Marmonte League selection as a senior ... Chosen team MVP that year as well ... Named to the Rawlings/Perfect Game Preseason California Region All High School Senior Honorable Mention team prior to start of 2012 campaign ... Hit .344 with eight doubles and a .440 on-base percentage v On the mound went 4-1 with a 3.90 earned run average while holding opponents to a .190 batting average ... As a junior hit .296 with two home runs and 20 RBI while compiling a pitching mark of 2-3 with one save and a 3.47 earned run average.
