Professional Career

2019

During the 2019 season, Vasquez spent time with three separate clubs, but primarily enjoyed work in Mahoning Valley, his second tour with the Scrappers. Vasquez posted a 1-1 record with a 4.01 ERA in eight appearances, four of which were starts. A quiet year compared to 2018, Vasquez's 30.2 innings of work and 27 strikeouts were both career-lows. The low output was likely attributed to multiple moves over the course of the season.

2018

Vasquez had the busiest season of his career in 2018 with the A classified Lake County Captains of the Midwest League. As a rotation starter, Vasquez led the team with 148 innings of work, adding a 6-7 record and a 4.07 ERA in 28 appearances, 23 of which were starts. The transitioned starter tallied a career-high 94 strikeouts in his sole season with Lake County.

2017

After making the move to short-season A with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, Vasquez made a transition from relief pitcher to rotation starter. Then-19-year old Vasquez directed a 5-3 record with an impressive 2.38 ERA in 14 outings, all of them starts. At the time, his 75.2 innings on the bump and 57 strikeouts were each career-highs.

2016

The Arizona League Indians welcomed 18-year old Vasquez in 2016, and righty responded with a promising 5-2 record paired with a 3.18 ERA in 56.2 innings, primarily in relief. Vasquez also posted 44 strikeouts during his second year in professional baseball.

2015

Vasquez began his career with the Dominican Summer League Indians in Foreign Rookie ball where the then-17-year old made 15 appearances resulting in a 1-1 record and a 2.36 ERA tallying 42 innings pitched. His three saves tied for second on the team, while his team-best 0.976 WHIP and 1.5 walks per nine were season highlights.
