(Milwaukee, WI) A storm blew through Milwaukee right before the start of Game 3 between the RailCats and the Milkmen, but the bats of the ‘Cats brought a storm of their own in the ‘Cats’ first victory of the 2024 season.
Once again, the Milkmen got off to a quick start, tossing a one on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning thanks to a Jalen Davis solo home run. However, the ‘Cats turned up the heat in the top of the 2nd, tallying 7 runs of their own. A ripped grounder from Marcos Gonzalez brought home two, followed by a three-run homer from Miguel Sierra, an RBI double from Basabe that scored Gio Diaz, and finally a Carlos Rincon single to drive home Basabe.
Gary piled onto their 7-1 lead in the 3rd and 4th innings to extend their lead, 9-2, but the Milkmen did not go down easy, cutting the ‘Cats’ lead to 4 in the bottom of the 7th inning thanks to an Erik Ostberg home run. However, the bullpen of the ‘Cats was able to neutralize the threat and avoid the series sweep.
The ‘Cats will play their home opener on May 17th at 6:45 pm CT against the Lake Country DockHounds, with post-game fireworks presented by Fifth Third Bank.
