Bio

Hull, 29, is a San Antonio, Texas native. The southpaw attended Churchill High School, where he was named the baseball team’s MVP and also competed in football and basketball. He began his college career at Incarnate Word before transferring to Temple College and later graduating from Creighton University. 

 

In 2019, Hull finished the season with a 5.75 ERA over 19 games (18 starts), recording 58 strikeouts in 72 innings. That year, the Blue Jays captured both the Big East Conference regular-season and tournament championships. Hull was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 28th round of the 2019 MLB Draft, where he transitioned to a reliever role. 

 

He spent two seasons in the Diamondbacks’ Minor League system before moving to the Atlantic League in 2022, pitching for both the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs and the Charleston Dirty Birds. In 2024, Hull signed his first contract with the RailCats after a brief stint with the Sioux City Explorers. 

 

The Texan re-signed with the ‘Cats in 2025, appearing in 36 games and posting a 4.30 ERA while cutting his walk rate from 18% to 12%.
