Gary, IN – The Gary SouthShore RailCats have signed former Miami Marlins Prospect Jesus Rosario.

Rosario, 23, becomes the second-youngest player in the RailCats organization. The right-handed pitcher signed with the Marlins as a 17-year old prior to the 2017 season. Rosario pitched in 21 games over three years with Miami’s Dominican Summer League affiliate until the 2019 campaign concluded.

After pitching in his home country of the Dominican Republic for three seasons, Rosario got his first taste of MLB Partner League baseball in the Pioneer League with the Billings Mustangs in 2021. The righty pitched in 13 games, including three starts in his lone season in the league.

In 2022, Rosario pitched in another MLB Partner League, appearing with the Frontier League’s Empire State Greys. Finishing third on the team with 20 appearances, Rosario struck out 27 batters in 23 innings pitched.
