The Elite Amateur Fight League’s Elite Fight Night will bring live professional MMA to a safe outdoor state of the art facility in Northwest Indiana.

GARY, INDIANA – For the first time the Elite Amateur Fight League (EAFL) is hosting a professional MMA event, recorded for regional television to Northwest Indiana in partnership with Gary SouthShore RailCats, on August 14 at “The Steel Yard.” Fans will have a chance to see the best amateur and professional fighters from Indiana and neighboring Illinois against talent from across the country. Tickets are available here and at RailCats Box Office. Tickets prices will range between $40 and $75 dollars. Doors Open at 5:00PM and fights start at 6:00PM.

Anthony Giammanco, General Manager of the RailCats said, “Northwest Indiana is growing in popularity as far as a living destination. We are seeing a population boom and we are here to give them a great option for live entertainment with our baseball team and with additional live events. When we met with Jesse and the Elite Amateur Fight League, we were excited to bring their brand of professionally produced MMA fights to our property and offer it our fan base. Not only do they have a great track record of matching exciting fights they also have a great relationship with Marquee Sports Network where they will air their recorded events to the large Chicago DMA. With Northwest Indiana as part of that DMA it gives us a chance to show off our state-of-the-art facility and drive more fans to our ballpark while providing an exciting night out and highlighting local MMA talent.”

Jesse Nunez, President of the EAFL said “The Gary SouthShore RailCats have done an amazing job at bringing live sports and entertainment to the region. We have been looking for a safe solution to hosting a live MMA event, and their ballpark was a perfect fit. While we want to have a packed stadium, we understand that safety precautions will need to be followed in this era and an outdoor event makes the most sense. The Indiana State Gaming Commission and Amateur Sanctioning Body as well as the Local Health Dept. have done an amazing job at setting safety guidelines, not to mention the RailCats organization has done all the due diligence to make their property safe for fan attendance. We are excited to host a safe outdoor event that will allow fans the opportunity to watch a live combat sports event, while following social distance guidelines.

Our event will feature some of the region’s best fighters looking to become top prospects in the Midwest. Standout Local fighter Payton Brezenski from Hobart Indiana will be part of the co-main event and be looking to establish himself as a UFC prospect while taking on California’s David Lopez. In the amateur bantamweight title fight Jonathan Appelman from Crown Point will be taking on Illinois Juan Avila.
