Gary, IN – The Gary SouthShore RailCats have signed outfielder MJ Rookard for the 2022 season. 

Rookard, 26 returns to Gary for his third professional season. He appeared in 59 games for the RailCats in 2022 playing both centerfield and rightfield. Rookard batted .259 with a .325 on-base percentage, 58 hits and finished fourth on the team in runs (35) and doubles (10). 

“We are excited to have MJ on board for 2022” said Manager Greg Tagert. “He’s shown the ability to be a very successful player. I look forward to seeing him keep progressing and being a big part of our 2022 RailCats club.”

The left-handed hitter played collegiately at Middle Georgia State University for two seasons.  He appeared in 112 games and batted .354 with a .451 on-base percentage, 16 home runs, 98 RBI, 139 hits, 24 doubles, and three triples for the Knights.
