An MLB Partner League Veteran, Jared Price comes back to the RailCats for his second season in 2023.  Joining from the Grand Junction Rockies in the Pioneer League, Price made just nine appearances in his debut season at The Steel Yard, striking out 11 batters and picking up one save in 7.1 innings.

Price pitched collegiately at Division II Oklahoma Christian University, splitting time between the starting rotation and the bullpen as a freshman and sophomore before ultimately moving to the back end of the bullpen as a junior.  He posted his best numbers from the closer role as a senior in 2019, going 2-3 with a 3.52 earned run average, 25 strikeouts, and eight saves in 22 appearances spanning 23 innings.  However, his biggest team successes came as an underclassman as the Eagles reached the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) World Series in 2015 as well as the Heartland Conference Championship in 2016.

Price began his professional career shortly after his graduation, signing with the Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers in the United Shore Professional Baseball League (USPBL) in 2019.  Over his two years as a Beaver, he posted a 3.52 ERA, fanning 53 batters in 56.2 innings, helping the Beavers reach the USPBL Championship Game in 2020.

Following that productive two-year stretch, Price signed with the Boise Hawks in the Pioneer League, where he spent the entire 2021 season.  He moved on to play for the Grand Junction Rockies the following year before heading to Gary in July.
